About Library

The library is an integral part of the college. It plays a crucial role in supporting higher education as well as research activities, especially in the context of the phenomenal growth of knowledge which is happening worldwide.

The SCCT  library has a seating arrangement for 65 students well furnished with wooden carrel reading tables with separate lighting system and comfortable chairs, Journal & New arrival display racks and one charging and discharging counter. The library collection includes books in various subjects of seventh Streams . The bound volumes of journals are also available.

The various aspects of the library have been integrated and digitalized within e-Granthalaya, the integrated Library Management Software from National Informatics Centre (NIC). This software is useful for automation of in-house activities of libraries and to provide various online member services.

Objective:

To integrate services and technologies that is essential for learning, research and creation of knowledge.

Library Services:

  • Lending of Books: Library extends home lending facilities to the students and the teachers wherin the teaching staff can avail the facility of issuing 10 books at one time. Students can have the benefit of having on book per week and can be extended further for another week on their borrower card. Students can take more then 2/3 books with their reference card.
  • Reports and Projects: BSCIT, Computer Science, BMS, BAF and BBI projects are kept in the library for the students/ teachers reference.
  • Question Paper : The previous five years question papers of all the courses/Steam and all the examinations (including ATKT) are available in the library for Teachers and Students Reference.
  • Alumni Membership: The Library not only caters to its present students but also the alumni of its college & students who wish to continue their studies from distance education or are preparing for competitive exams.

Library Rules and Regulations:

MEMBERSHIP:

  1. Only SCCT Students, Faculty and Staff members can register their Library Membership.
  2. Only registered member are allowed to use Library .
  3. A duplicate Library Borrowers cardwill be issued on payment of Rs.25/-.

CIRCULATION OF BOOKS AND HOME LENDING

  • Book is issued for a week on library borrower card.
  • Reference books, Journal & Magazine are available only in Reading hall on reference basis. Previous issues of Journal & Magazine can be issue for 2-3 days on borrower card.
  • Most demanded books will be not renewed.
  • Readers are responsible for misuse of their Library Card.
  • The University Question papers, Out of print books, Projects etc. are only for reference, not for home issue.
  • Borrowers must Check about the physical condition of the books before borrowing any damage, later or at the time of returning will be charged fine.

OER List: Open Educational Resources(OER)are freely accessible, digital assets that are useful for teaching, learning, and assessing as well as for research
purposes.

The OAPEN Library contains 36,000 freely accessible academic books, mainly in the area of humanities and social sciences

3.PDFDrive  PDF Drive is a search engine for PDF files. As of 03-09-2020, there are 84,552,812 eBooks for you to download for free.

  1. ManyBooks: Ultimate guide to free e-books, offers more than 50,000 ebooks to be discovered.
  1. Open Textbook Library– Textbooks every student can access and afford. These books have been reviewed by faculty from a variety of colleges and universities to assess their quality.
  2. NCERT Books:Text Books for all classes from Std. I to Std. XII available in pdf format for reading online as well as downloading.

GENERAL RULES:

  • Readers should observe strict silence inside the Library.
  • Use of Mobile phones is not permitted inside the Library premises.
  • Users are not allowed to carry eatables/drinks inside the Library premises.
  • Library Borrowers  card & Reference card are non-transferable.
  • Readers are advised not to leave their valuable items like money, passport, credit card etc. at the Reading table.
  • Marking, scratching, damaging, mutilating, stealing, library materials or property will invite disciplinary action against the defaulters.
  • Readers should not talk or discuss as they may disturb other readers.
  • Users should not rest or keep their feet on tables, chairs, shelves, etc.
  • The library shall not be responsible for any loss or damage of the personal belongings of the users.
  • The Librarian reserves the right to suspend the membership of any member found misbehaving with the library staff or with any other member.
  • Readers should not leave bags/books/copies on the table and cannot claim, capture, and reserve seats for future use.
  • The seats are to be used/occupied on the first come first served basis.
  • Readers should not scribble on table tops or damage them.
  • Readers should not clutter the table with heaps of books and other reading material.
