The Lifelong Learning and Extension Unit of Sanpada College of commerce and Technology organized “Poster Making Competition” on 26th August,2023 at 10:00 am in room number 501 fifth floor.The main objective of the event was to give opportunity to the students to express their opinions and create awareness about various socio-economic, career and personality related issues through posters.Overall 64 students participated in the competition.

28 th July,2023 on the occasion of “World Nature Conservation Day” the
Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) Unit of Sanpada
college of Commerce and Technology organized “Tree Plantation Drive” in the
college premises (College Garden). The objective of this event was to create
awareness and teach students the importance of tree plantation and how we can
save our climate from pollution. Also we can develop a climate ecosystem free of greenhouse gases to reduce global warming.

Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension Unit of Sanpada College of Commerce and Technology conducted “First Term Training Program” for DLLE students on 24th August,2023 at 10:00 am in Room No. 103 First Floor.The main objective of the program was to give information to the students about DLLE projects so that they can select any one project out 6 projects given under DLLE namely Career Project(CP),Annapoorna Yojana (AY),Skill Development Project (SDP),Environment Education Project (EEP),Civic Sense (CS) and Consumer Education Project(CEP).The session was conducted by DLLE chairperson Asst.Prof.Sushil S.Jadhav and Co-Chairperson Prof.Ameer Shaikh.Overall 106 students attended the session

Venue: Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Arts,Science and Commerce(Autonomous),Chembur, Mumbai.
Brief details about Event:
First Term Training Programme for Extension Work Teachers and Student Managers had been organized on 3rd August,2023 at Vivekanand Education Society’s College of Arts,Science and Commerce(Autonomous),Chembur, Mumbai.As a College Representative and DLLE Co-ordinator, Prof.Sushil Jadhav along with Student Manager Abhishek Jaiswar and Student Volunteer Ansh Pathare attended the programme.The programme was organized to guide extension teachers and student managers about registration procedure of college,generating new login Id of college for new DLLE Website and newly added 4 DLLE Projects namely Skill Development (SD),Environment Education (EE),Civic Sense (CS) and Consumer Guidance (CG).

NSS DEPT – ROAD SAFETY RALLY

On 26th November 2022, the NSS department organized a Rally on “ROAD SAFETY” from 9 a.m. to 12 noon with First Year and Second Year Degree college students. More than 39 participants graced the event by their presence out of which 17 were boys and 22 were girls. NSS PO Prof. Zahid Khan and PO Prof. Amruta Oturkar were also present for the rally.
The rally started with the College gate drums and NSS Claps. The rally continued to Sectors 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Sanpada, where slogan such as “Safe Drive Save A Life” and “Go Slow Go Safe” was given to make people aware of Road Safety, later the students helped the Traffic Police personnel at the Sanpada Highway Bridge, were as a token of making common people under the importance of Road Safety roses were given to the people who are not abiding the Safety norms and not following the Traffic Rules. People were made to realize that it is important to follow the Safety and Traffic guidelines to make the road safe for fellow people who are driving any vehicle or the people crossing the road.
The Head of the Traffic Police of Sanpada and Turbhe area were also present to guide us better on Road Safety, they also appreciated our initiative and efforts that were made to create awareness about Road Safety. The rally then continued back to the college where the event ended with the NSS Clap and the event went in flow as per the planning overall event was a grand success with the full efforts of the team.


CLEANLINESS DRIVE

Academic Year 2022-2023

On 10th AUGUST,2022, Sanpada college of commerce and technology celebrated Azadi ka amrit mahotsav, Cultural committee and DLLE organized the cleanliness drive. Students and teachers from all the departments gathered at the ground floor lobby at 11.10 am. Prof. Ivy Ganguly, Chairperson of DLLE, Instructed all the students about the drive. Students were given gloves, a dustbin bag, and a broom to take out the unnecessary items from the campus. Students participated in the huge number and enthusiastically did the cleanliness of the campus.

Yoga and meditation

During the global pandemic, we have all had to change how we live and work COVID-19 pandemic has created an emotional and psychological pandemic among students.

Prolonged lockdown, lack of social interaction, and changed lifestyle has led to Stress, Anxiety, and Depression in young adults, including students.

Yoga and meditation positively impact students’ psychological, emotional, and immunological parameters.

Awareness of yoga and meditation could assist students in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing during stressful conditions.
*Sanpada College of Commerce and Technology,* the DLLE Committee Incharge Prof. Ivy Ganguly, in association with the *IQAC Cell* had arranged for an offline *Yoga & Meditation Session* on *25th February 2022.* Timing : 08.30 am – 10.00a.m. Yoga guru Shri Abhay in association with Yuva Bharat (Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar) guided our students how yoga and meditation helps us to have healthy and wealthy life.
The session began by seeking the blessings of the Almighty by chanting the Gayatri Mantra. Starting with warming up and stretching were followed by a series of Asana and ending with Meditation chanting OM to relax our mind ,body and soul in these stressful times. It was indeed a a refreshing session.
At the end our Principal Prof. Raosaheb thanked Shri Abhay hi by presenting a bouquet as a token of gratitude. Dr. Roselin our course coordinator and other senior faculty members Prof. Smira Negi, Prof. Hazel Jones, Prof. Zulfa Khan , Prof. Priya Singh also participated in the event.

Report on “Fancy Dress Competition”

The Women Development cell of Sanpada College of Commerce and Technology has organised “Sheroes Fancy Dress Competition” on 18th December 2021 at 12. Noon virtually for the female students and the female teachers. The objective of the occasion was to glorify great female leaders and personality who set a role model to the budding young girls.

The event began with a formal welcome introduction by the chairperson of WDC, Dr. Roselin Linitta George, followed by the lighting of the virtual lamp by the Principal Prof. Raosaheb, Ms. Sheela Warbhuwan, Vive-Principal of SCCT and the guest speaker of the day, Prof. Asmita Wewhare. Prof. Smita Negi introduced the judge for the show. Further the event proceeded with the address of the Principal, Vice-principal and the guest speaker.
After the formal introductory event, the students started to showcase their talents one after the other. Prof. Asmita Wewhare judged the event and announced the winners. Ms. Pooja Mulae bagged the first place for the day.

The winners and the participants will be given with the e-certificates.
The event established the strength of women through the female student’s active participation and the speaker’s motivational speech. The celebration ended with the formal vote of thanks by Ms. Tejal Dharamsi .

On 31st August,2019 Women Development Cell of SCCT & OCL had organized Self-Defence Training programme for Girls . The Principal of SCCT Prof. Raosaheb , Principal of OCL Prof. Dr.P.Y.Gaonkar & the Chief Guest Miss. Renuka Krishna Chityal , Miss. Aquila Mathew inaugurated the programme. The programme was divided into two sessions, the first session was solo dance and skit performed by the students on the topic “WOMEN EMPOWERMENT” and the second session was practical demonstration . The WDC chairperson of SCCT, Prof. Shailu Singh introduced the event. The Principal of SCCT Prof.Raosaheb explained that Self-Defence techniques enable the women to take control of situations, this also increases confidence. Miss. Renuka Chityal, Who is a is 3rd Dan Black Belt, National and International Gold medalist & Miss Aquila Mathew, Black Belt and Gold medalist, guided and taught the students various techniques of Self-Defence moves by giving examples of various situations. They also explained how we can make the best possible use of the things available in our surrounding to make a self-protecting weapon. Each student was asked to perform every move learnt and various Do’s and Don’ts were discussed. The session was very informative and interactive. The programme ended on a note of being a fighter , never a victim .programme concluded by vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Bhupindar Kaur.


Women Development Cell – 2019

Women Development Cell of Sanpada College of Commerce & Technology conducted an event on “Awareness about Sexual Harassment of Women” and “Health & Hygiene” on 2nd August ,2019. A.P.I. Priyanka Kamble (Vashi Police Station) & Dr. Mauli Patil(M.B.B.S) were the Chief Guest. Priyanka madam enlightened the students on what constitutes sexual harassment and importance of having awareness about Sexual harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) ACT, 2013 .She also explained the importance of Vishakha Guidelines in India in cases of sexual harassment. Questions related to false complaint was addressed by A.P.I. Priyanka Kamble madam.

Taking a step towards wellness, Dr. Mouli Patil explained that Majority of diseases can be prevented by keeping a good personal hygiene. Dr. Patil madam has explained that there is a direct correlation between the lack of personal hygiene and illness.She has also explained how to overcome social taboos about periods.

Question answer session was open for all the students. Some questions were asked by students and teachers. Session was very interactive and impactful.

Chief Guest for the event was Mrs. Fatima Khan (National President anti corruption NGO). The event was commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp ceremony. The WDC chairperson Prof. Bhupender welcomed everyone.

The event included a cultural programmed along with workshop to inculcate in the young girls self defence skills and Techniques.

According to proposed plan of Women Development Cell, Committee had organised a Poster making competitions which was held on Saturday, January 6th, 2018, The Theme was Women Empowerment. Chief Guest for the event was PSI MRS. ARCHANA KUDALE. The event was commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp ceremony. The WDC chairperson Prof. Shailu Singh welcomed everyone. Total 40 students participated in this competition. Whole event was organized on 10:00 A.M to 11:30 A.M in Ground floor .We provided Drawing sheets to the participants. . Students were asked to prepare a Poster portraying their idea of the ‘women empowerment ‘ Students participated with undying enthusiasm and expressed their views and thoughts about the women by drawing Colourful posters, writing slogans and quotes. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the students had in their presentation. This activity kept the student engaged and it was organized to explore and encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills. It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic excellence. Two students announced as winners 1st & 2nd after the judgment of the Chief Guest. The competition was really enjoyed by all the students.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Chairperson of WDC, Prof. Shailu Singh.

On the 4th of OCTOBER, 2017, Women Development Cell organized Self-defence Training programme for girls students. The theme of the event was “Feel Safe”.

The event was commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp ceremony. The principal sir, speaker and instructors inaugurated the programme. The WDC chairperson Prof. Shailu Singh welcomed everyone and enlightened with the objective and purpose of WDC committee.

The event was conducted by Mr.Jogy Abraham who is 7th Degree black belt and international referee awarded by the world karate federation. He is currently the Secretary of Maharashtra Karate Association.  The program was divided into two sessions, the first session was skit performed by the students on the topic “women Empowerment” and the second session was practical session, where Mr. Rajesh Jogy Abraham and his three professional accompanists including Miss. Namrata Singh demonstrated the techniques to be used while in danger.

There were about 150 students present for the event. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Chairperson of WDC, Prof. Shailu Singh.

Marathi Rajbhasha Diwas (27th Feb, 2016)

27th Feb 2016 is celebrated as the Marathi Rajbhasha Diwas on large scale throughout the world. Every year this day is celebrated as Marathi Bhasha Diwas on account of Marathi Literature Icon’s Birth Anniversary Shri Vaman Vishnu Shirwadkar. He was a famous Marathi poet, writer, artist, lyricist, etc. Kusumagraj as famously known was also Gnyanapeeth award winner, one of the most prestigious awards of the Government of India. The day is already being celebrated by many organizations across the world, including all the departments of University of Mumbai as well as other state universities. Read More…


REPORT ON CYBER CRIME WORKSHOP (Date: 17/12/2015)

There was Cyber Crime Workshop on 17th December, 2015 in Sanpada College of Commerce & Technology for the students and the staff members between 3 to 5 p.m. This drive was conducted by Sanpada Police in favour of modern generation. Mrs. Ashra Saudagar incharge of junior college commerce & Dr. Bhandari welcome the guests. More than 200 students and teachers attended the programme. On this occasion Mr. Ananda Hodge , Sr. Inspector; Mr. Suresh Menon, cyber crime expert; Mr. V.S. Parab , Asst. Insp. Of Police; Mr. Pandey , SBI Information Security department delivered speech and gave various suggestions. Most probably the theme of the cyber crime was opening new accounts, use of ATM Card, use of Facebook and Internet etc. There was a beautiful interaction section between 11th standard students and the cyber experts. STREET PLAY 15th August, 2015

After the celebration of Independence Day Sanpada college Of Commerce & Technology, degree college students performed street play at the Sanpada Railway station. The title was “Cruelty Against Trees” which was a part of “Enviornmental Awareness Campaign”. The whole play was based on how we are degrading our environment and what steps to be taken to protect the environment.To convey their message effectively they used a slogan “ Paryawaran ka rakho dhyan, tabhi banega desh mahan ! ( If you want to make your country great, you must care of our environment ). The script was written by B.COM head of the department Prof. Sushil S. Jadhav and acted by a group of 15 students. ENVIRONMENTAL POSTERS & MODELS EXHIBITION 14 /8 / 2015

As a part of departmental activity, B.Com Department organized “Environmental Posters & Models Exhibition” on 14th August, 2015 between 9:00 A.M TO 11:30 AM. Principal Dr. F.A. Shaikh inaugurated the exhibition by lighting of the lamp. The honourable Principal aware the students about the importance and need of good & evergreen environment. Co-ordinators were also felicitated & given saplings of flowers by the Principal. The excited students of B.COM performed a skit on “Cruelty Against Trees”. It is indeed a serious issue in urban as well as rural areas. It was an eye opening skit for all of us. More than 110 students participated in poster and model making from best out of the waste. Some models and posters were awesome. For the tremendous performance students were awarded with the certificates. Uttarakhand Relief Fund

Uttarakhand is a place which remain with some kind of disaster either earthquake or flood or landslides. In 2013, there was dreadful cloud burst in Kedarnath and some other places in Garhwal and Kumaon regions. Hundreds of people lost their lives while thousands of people wounded, became homeless and lost their property, near & dears ones. It was the worst tragedy in the history of India. Sanpada College of commerce and technology showed a great sympathy and condolences.

We organized a short program on this incident; BMM ( Mass Media) students prepared a short video on this incident. Sanpada College management, teachers, students and staff all collected a small amount Rs 43,000/ and sent to uttarakhand chief minister relief fund as a token of our sympathy.
