Event Summary-

The NSS Cleanliness Drive was conducted in College’s Garden and nearby area on 25th August, 2023. Program officer Prof. Jeevan & Prof. Anisha initiated the drive by motivating the students and also explained the importance of cleanliness not only in the college but also in student’s lives. Every student participated very effectively and in an enthusiastic way. The students, with the direction of Prof. Jeevan and Prof. Anisha started the cleanliness in the college garden and then moved to the outside area of the college. The students were divided into various groups and each group was leaded by a group leader. The students did a great job. Towards the end of the event, Prof. Jeevan distributed refreshment to the students. The event ended smoothly at 11.30 am.



NSS Report – International yoga day 2023-2024


National Service Scheme

International yoga day 2023 is celebrated every year on June 21st to promote the numerous benefits of practicing yoga. Yoga is practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune system. On 21st June 2023, Sanpada college of Commerce and Technology celebrated International Yoga Day. It was attended by all the teachers, Principal, Vice Principal and 75 students with great enthusiasm. The event began at 9.00 am with a brief introduction on yoga day by welcoming the guest of honour. Mrs. Pramodini Sonkusare.

Yoga day is originated from ancient India as a holistic discipline that unites the mind, body, and spirit. It encompasses various physical posture (Asanas), breathing techniques (Pranayama), meditation and ethicas principles, promoting harmony within oneself and with the world. The practices of yoga enhance physical strength, flexibility & balance while simultaneously reduces stress, anxiety and depression. To highlight, Mrs. Pramodini mentioned the importance of modern yoga in day to day life and in health benefits she also took the initiative to teach various yogasanas to students which gave profound impact on mental & emotional well-being which made it a cherished tool for individuals seeking a healthier and more harmonious lifestyle.

The celebration concluded with the speech of our guest by encouraging students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration. All faculties, staff and students were taught the importance of yoga in their life and how to maintain the harmony between body and mind. The students discussed the importance of yoga and also exhibited yoga postures and promised to introduce this activity in their daily lives. International yoga day celebration ended successful under the supervision of the NSS committee PO. Patil Jeevan, PO. Antto Anisha. The function ended with a proposing vote of thanks.

The Motto of NSS “Not Me But You”, reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. NSS helps the students develop appreciation to other person’s point of view and also show consideration to other living beings. The philosophy of the NSS is well doctrine in this motto, which underlines on the belief that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole and therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society.

National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary program under which young students from colleges, universities, and +2 level work towards creating a campus-community linkage. Popular as NSS, this program is conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.

NSS is a university of Mumbai affiliated committee. NSS unit was inaugurated on 1st October 2022 in the SCCT campus with a team consists of 100 volunteers who denote the selfless services and provide hands in delivering community service. Volunteers from seven different streams (B.COM, BMS, BAMMC, B.Sc. IT, B.Sc. CS, BAF, BBI)

NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.
